Armin Dzafic, a queer Yugoslavian filmmaker showcasing untold Aussie stories.
Having written for an ABC documentary and various award-winning short films, Armin developed his talent for writing concise, character focused drama, based on his lived experience.
Studying at the Griffith Film School allowed Armin to extend his creative talents into directing and hone his skills in producing. Delving further into his creative side for HQCM, Armin took on the role of Dragomir, a skeptical, nihilistic version of his otherwise charming and lighthearted self. Seizing the opportunity to create captivating content and build relationships in his ever growing filmmakers network, Armin started Oko Moje, a production company focusing on independent film production.
The phrase Oko Moje is Bosnian for “My Eye”, which Armin chose as his business name to imbue his love of filmmaking with his Bosnian heritage. Eager to explore all the possibilities that creating film has to offer and pushing the boundaries of narrative fiction, Armin is now developing F.C. a crime series centring on the Yugoslavian/Australian migrant experience in 1990s football club culture. When he’s not making films, Armin enjoys spending quality time with his partner Myles, a Social Worker, and their adopted rescue dog Kota
